Album Updates
Lockdown slowed us down but it didn't stop us from cracking on! Our latest WIPs can be found on our Instagram page where you can follow our creative process. Check our Soundcloud for the more "finished" teasers.
The Lonely Song was written at the start of lockdown while some of our friends were in self isolation and everywhere was closed. It made it a chore to socialize but we endured having some of the best mates you could hope for. This one is for them...
Band Bio
Sunset are an original rock band working to release an album in April 2021. They take inspiration from 80s glam metal and modern country rock artists. Both Holley and Luke are passionate guitarists and their music reflects that with complex riffs and harmonies. Luke's covers band Sabertooth and Holley's career as Misty Jones will continue alongside Sunset and are well worth looking at. After years of saying they should start an originals band, the time finally came in 2019.
Keepsakes will be their first album, releasing in April 2021. Demo tracks will be available on SoundCloud soon but will only stay up for a limited time before the next one goes live. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and visit our website so you don't miss your chance for an early preview.
The bands personal BIO's below get into more detail about their past and how the band came to be.
Holley's Bio
Holley traveled around the country for a while as a child before settling in March in her early teens. Growing up in a musical background it was no surprise she started learning guitar at the early age of 7 with huge musical influences from The Beatles all the way through to bands such as Aerosmith. In her early teen years she developed her musical style to the more modern bands she found influence in (Paramore, A Day To Remember, Black Stone Cherry).
Making an 180 turn in style with creating Misty Jones an acoustic singer songwriter to earn earn experience in the music industry and the world of gigs.
Since returning home from university studying music she's looking forward to submersing herself into Sunset writing, recording and performing.All while taking influence from her roots.
Luke's Bio
Luke was born and raised in his hometown, March. He picked up his taste for glam metal and 80s pop from his parents which drove him to start guitar lessons at 11. During secondary school he discovered Joe Bonamassa and a love for blues which lead him to play at open mic nights around the area with many more experienced musicians. At one of these open mics he met Evie and Antony, members of Sabertooth Timmy. After joining the covers band Luke's career started, playing beers festivals and many local pubs.
Having decided to give up his job to become a teacher, Luke went back to college to study music. Holley and Luke formed Sunset after years of being friends and only having the chance to play together a handful of times. He looks forward to putting in the hours, writing and recording songs for Sunset Boulevard.
